Ask what you’d try this year if you weren’t scared of looking dumb. Then notice how short that list really is.
STILLNESS
Fear of looking stupid feels like a general condition, as though it is stopping everything. Write the list and it turns out to be four items, maybe five. The vagueness was doing the work, because an unnamed fear covers the whole year while a named one covers an audition and a conversation in Spanish.
Put the list on paper tonight and circle the easiest item. Then do the beginner version of it this week, the one where being bad is expected and nobody is surprised. First attempts are cheap, and the audience you are imagining is busy with their own list.
If looking foolish cost nothing, what would you try?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
