The quiet morning before a big test or game is a good time to remind yourself you’ve prepared, not to cram fear.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Nothing you do in that last hour will add much to what you know or what your legs can do. It can subtract, since twenty minutes of panicked cramming mostly teaches you what you have not covered and sends you in rattled. The morning is for arriving steady, which is the one variable still available.
Make the hour boring on purpose. Eat the same thing, read over one page you already know well, get there early enough not to rush. If the nerves come anyway, they are supposed to, and they do less damage without new information to work with.
How do you spend the morning before something that matters?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
