There is a version of keeping quiet that is control and a version that is avoidance, and from the outside they look identical. Only you know which one you are doing. Calling fear a tactic is comfortable, because it lets you do nothing and feel wise about it. The test is simple enough: can you say what you are waiting for.
Think of something you have not said to a coach, a parent, a friend. Ask whether the timing is genuinely wrong or whether you are afraid of their face. If it is fear, say one sentence of it this week.
Is your quiet a choice or just fear of speaking?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
