A mentor’s advice is worth more if you don’t broadcast it. Some doors stay open because you were discreet.

People tell you useful things when they are confident it will not travel. A coach who knows their words get repeated starts handing you the safe version, which is worth nothing. Keeping advice to yourself is less about secrecy than about staying the kind of person who gets told the real answer. Discretion is the price of access.
The next time somebody more experienced is honest with you, keep it between you. If you want to pass the lesson on, strip out the name and the details. Then go back with a specific question, because people who use advice well get offered more of it.
Who has helped you quietly and deserves your discretion?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
