Keep a few cards face down. Not to trick anyone, just so your whole hand isn’t up for debate.

Everything you put on the table becomes available for discussion. Announce a plan and you have invited opinions on it; share every goal and each one acquires a committee. Keeping some things to yourself is not deceit, it is leaving yourself room to change your mind before anyone has an opinion about the change.

Pick one thing you are working on and simply do not mention it for a month. Tell one person if you want someone to talk to. Then show the result rather than the intention, and notice how much easier that was.
