Plenty of people start an instrument at sixty and play for twenty years. Starting late beats not starting.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
The arithmetic of starting late is better than it feels. Twenty years of playing is not a consolation prize, it is most of a musical life, and the only version genuinely worth nothing is the one that never starts. Your age sets how much time is left, and the decision sets whether any of it gets used.
Do the beginner thing you have been embarrassed about wanting: borrow the guitar, find the cheap lessons, learn three chords badly. Give it two months before passing judgement on yourself. If an adult in your family says they wish they had learned, tell them the same.
