STILLNESS
The second time something happens it is a crisis. The fifth time it is a familiar shape with a known ending. Experience does not make hard things easy; it removes the panic that comes from not knowing whether this ever resolves, and much of the suffering was in that.
When you are in something you have been in before, remind yourself of how the previous one ended. Not as false comfort, just as evidence. Recognizing a pattern is one of the few genuine advantages of having lived a while.
