The kid version of you would be thrilled by some things you take for granted now. Look at your life with their eyes once.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Adaptation is efficient and it is also a thief. Things that would have amazed you at eight, like being able to drive, or the friends you have, or making food you actually like, turn invisible within weeks of arriving. Nothing is wrong with you for that. It is how attention works, and it can be reversed on purpose.
Walk through your own week once as the eight year old would have seen it. Find two things that kid would be delighted by and use them deliberately. It is a free upgrade to a life you already have.
What would eight-year-old you be amazed to have now?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
