Mistakes from when you were fifteen don’t get the final word on who you are at thirty.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
A person at fifteen is a draft. What you did with an unfinished brain and no experience is real, and it is not a verdict, because the distance between fifteen and thirty contains more change than almost any other stretch of a life. People who did something stupid and then became unrecognisably better are the normal case, not the exception.
Make whatever repair is available: apologise where it would help, fix what can be fixed, then let the rest sit in the past where it lives. If it still follows you around, say it out loud to one person you trust. Old mistakes grow in the dark.
Which old mistake are you still letting define you?
