In a hundred years nobody will know your follower count. Someone might still be using the shelf you built.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Numbers that feel urgent now have very little durability, while objects and skills can be absurdly persistent. A follower count is a reading on a screen that resets when the platform does. A shelf is a thing somebody stacks books on for eighty years. Made things outlast measured things, which is useful to know before choosing what to spend a decade on.
Make something physical this month, even badly: a shelf, a meal, a repair to something broken. Notice that the satisfaction is a different shape from the satisfaction of being seen. Both are real and only one of them keeps.
What are you counted by now that nobody will count later?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
