You can’t redo last year. You can decide what next year gets to say about you.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
The past is finished and the near future is unformed, which is an unfair-sounding but useful division. No amount of review changes what last year contained, while the next twelve months are undecided and sitting right in front of you. Energy spent relitigating a bad year comes straight out of the one you are building.
Write one sentence you would like to be true by this time next year, and keep it small enough to be plausible. Then name the weekly action that would make it true. Years get built out of repeating weeks rather than out of decisions made in January.
What do you want next year to say about you?
