Wear the shirt you’re saving for a special occasion. Plenty of ordinary Thursdays deserve it.

Ordinary days are not a lower grade of day. They are the ones you actually get, in large numbers, and deciding they do not deserve the good shirt is a way of deciding most of your life is a rehearsal. Nothing is being preserved by waiting, since the shirt will stop fitting before the occasion shows up.
