Your grandparents probably got through things they never talk about. Some of your strength is inherited.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Quiet people often have the longest record of getting through things. Grandparents who never mention a hard decade are not short of material; they came from a time when you survived it and did not narrate it. That endurance did not stay with them either. It got taught forward in how they raised the people who raised you, so some of what you call toughness arrived before you did.
In a hard stretch, you might remind yourself that people you come from got through worse with less. If you can, ask one of them about a difficult year. You may get very little, and even a little is worth having.
