Make enough room in life for moments whose only achievement is that you enjoyed them.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
A life fills itself with obligations unless you actively hold space open, and the first thing squeezed out is always whatever has no argument for itself. Time that produces nothing except your own enjoyment has no advocate on the calendar, so it disappears quietly, and its absence is felt only as a slow flatness that is hard to trace back.
Make the room deliberately, not with whatever is left over. Put one thing in the week that you are doing purely because it pleases you, and treat it as fixed. If you find yourself justifying it in terms of energy or productivity, notice that, and let it stand on its own.
What would fill your week if enjoyment were reason enough?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
