Quality often lives below the threshold casual observers notice consciously.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
People rarely notice good craft item by item, but they feel it. The spacing, the fit, the seam that lines up, the sentence that does not stumble. None of it is consciously registered, yet together it produces the impression that something is trustworthy, and its absence produces a vague unease that no one can name.
That means the parts nobody will comment on are still doing work. When you are deciding where to spend the last hour on something, do not spend it all on the parts that will be praised. Fix the small rough edges too, because they are shaping the impression whether or not anyone can point at them.
