Being honest about what you’re good at isn’t bragging. Pretending you aren’t wastes it.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
There is a habit of shrinking yourself that gets mistaken for modesty. Saying you are decent at something is simply accurate, and accuracy is what lets people put you where you are useful. When you deflect every time, the group ends up with a worse picture of what it actually has available.
Next time somebody asks who can do a thing you can do, say that you can, without the softening clause on the end. Keep it flat and factual rather than loud. Then do the job, which turns the claim into nothing more than a true statement.
What are you genuinely good at and reluctant to say aloud?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
