If you’d be embarrassed for your followers to see a normal Tuesday, the account is the costume.

A feed built only from the best moments eventually becomes something you maintain rather than something you enjoy. The distance between the ordinary version of your life and the posted one is work, and it is work with no end, because the posted version has to keep being true to itself.

Put up something plain this week, or put up nothing at all and leave the gap unmanaged. Then notice whether that is uncomfortable, and how much. It is worth remembering that everybody else’s Tuesday looks a lot like yours, including the people whose feeds suggest otherwise.
