Being wrong is normal. Staying wrong to save face is a choice.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Everybody holds wrong views, picks wrong answers, misjudges situations. None of that needs explaining, because it is simply what happens when you have incomplete information. What needs explaining is the decision to keep defending a position after you know better, which is no longer about the facts but about not wanting to be seen moving.
When you realise mid-argument that you are wrong, say so in that moment instead of finishing the point. It costs about five seconds of discomfort. People remember somebody who does that far more warmly than somebody who never had to.
What are you still defending only to avoid looking foolish?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
