Two different friends telling you the same hard thing isn’t a conspiracy. It’s a pattern.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
When a criticism arrives twice from people who never compared notes, the simplest explanation is that they both saw the same thing. Your mind reaches for the other explanation, that they have been talking, because that version asks nothing of you. Independent witnesses are the closest thing to evidence you will get about yourself.
Write down the thing they both said and sit with it for a day before answering either of them. Then ask one of them for an example, so it becomes specific enough to act on. Thank them, even if you end up disagreeing with half of it.
What have two different friends now told you about yourself?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
