Your ego writes the first version of every story. Make the second draft more honest.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Your first account of anything comes out already shaped, with you lit well and the awkward parts cropped out. That happens automatically and fast, before any deciding is involved, which is why it feels like the truth rather than a draft. Treating it as a draft is the whole move, because drafts can be revised.
Take something that happened recently and tell it again, to yourself, with your worst moment included. See if the story still works. If it does not, you have learned something, and if it does, you can tell it with a much straighter face.
What would a second, fairer telling of your last argument include?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
