Beliefs get absorbed as easily as accents. Spend enough time in a group and you will find yourself holding positions you never examined, stated with real conviction, because the conviction came along with the content. That is not weakness, it is how people work, and it does mean an audit is worth doing occasionally.

Take one view you hold strongly and try to say why in your own words, with a reason that is not simply that it is obvious. If you cannot, you have found a borrowed one. Keep it or drop it, but now you know which it is.
