The phrase common sense can conceal a lifetime of uncommon advantages.

REFLECTION
What passes for common sense is usually knowledge that was available in a particular kind of life. Knowing how to speak to a doctor, how a lease works, which questions to ask about a job offer. Calling it obvious erases the years of exposure that made it obvious and blames anyone who was not there.
When something seems like it should not need explaining, explain it anyway. And when you feel foolish for not knowing something apparently basic, consider where it would have been learned. Most of common sense is inherited access, unevenly distributed and rarely acknowledged.
What seems obvious to you because of how you were raised?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
