The door God closes may be protecting the person you prayed to become.

The thing you asked to become may not be compatible with the thing you asked to have, and a closing sometimes protects the first at the cost of the second. Standing in front of the closed door you feel only the loss, since the person you were becoming is not something you can see the way you can see an opportunity.

Ask what quality you were hoping this path would develop in you. Then look for where that quality is being asked for right now. It is often closer than the door that shut.
