Grace does not pretend the wound never happened; it refuses to let the wound have ownership.

Acknowledging a wound and being ruled by it are different. Grace does not require you to say the injury was fine or that it did not happen. What it refuses is the wound getting to decide who you are from now on and what you are allowed to want.
Name the thing honestly rather than minimizing it, since minimizing tends to keep it in charge. Then ask what one part of your life it has been deciding for you. Take that one part back, slowly, on your own timing.
What does an old wound still own that you would like back?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
