Being seen as exceptional can make ordinary needs harder to admit.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Once you are seen as exceptional, ordinary need becomes hard to voice. Asking for help, admitting confusion, or saying that you are struggling would contradict the picture other people are relying on, and disappointing them starts to feel like a real cost. The regard becomes an isolation.
If this is you, pick one person and be plainly ordinary with them. Not a confession, just a normal admission of difficulty. And if you admire someone this way, make a point of asking how they actually are, since the praise may have removed everyone else’s willingness to.
