The margin between sincerity and satire can vanish when the original context is lost.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Sincerity and satire look identical once the context is gone. Tone lives in the surrounding circumstances, and when those disappear, the words alone cannot say whether they were meant or mocked. Old material is misread constantly for exactly this reason, in both directions.
Assume the same will happen to what you write and send. A message that is obviously a joke in your head arrives without your face attached to it. When something you read seems outrageous, consider that you may have lost the frame rather than found the truth. Asking what was meant costs one sentence and prevents a surprising number of conflicts.
What of yours could be badly misread without the context?
