A dining table can host abundance while concealing the person counting portions privately.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

A generous-looking table can hide the person doing arithmetic. Someone is watching whether there is enough, adjusting their own portion quietly, calculating what happens if one more person serves themselves. That work is invisible by design, because being seen doing it would spoil the abundance for everyone else.

If you host, make the arithmetic unnecessary rather than merely hidden: more than enough, and no comment on how much anyone takes. If you are a guest, notice who serves themselves last and least. And if you are the one counting, you are doing an old and unrecognised kind of care, and it should not have to be invisible.
