Peace is not the absence of problems; it is refusing to let every problem move inside you.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Peace is not a description of your circumstances, since everyone’s circumstances contain problems. It is about which problems you allow to take up residence, to follow you into the evening and the weekend and the parts of your mind that were meant for something else. Some things you handle and set down.
At the end of a day, notice what you are still carrying that has no action attached. Put those down deliberately, even briefly. The practice of setting things down is what peace actually consists of.
Which problem have you let take up residence in your mood?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
