The same day reaches different people through entirely different concerns. Your neighbour had your weather, your city, your news, and experienced all of it filtered through worries you know nothing about, which means you have shared the conditions without sharing the day. Proximity is not common experience.

Worth remembering before assuming someone understands what a week has been like. It is also an easy opening: asking a neighbour or a colleague what their week has actually been, and listening past the first polite answer, tends to reveal that the shared conditions produced completely different lives.
