The tailor asks a body for its present measurements while the customer may be answering from memory.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
The tape asks about the body that is here; the person answering often speaks from the body they remember. There is a lag between what has changed and what we have accepted, and it produces small daily errors of fit in clothing and in much else. Self-image updates slower than the self.
So let the measurement win over the memory, gently. Buy for the body you have, plan for the energy you currently have, make commitments based on the life you are actually living rather than the one you were living three years ago. The adjustment is uncomfortable for a moment and everything afterwards fits better.
