The deepest water rarely spends time proving its depth.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Depth does not need to be demonstrated, and the effort to demonstrate it is usually a sign of its absence. Someone who actually knows a great deal is comfortable being quiet, being wrong occasionally, and letting the conversation go where it goes. The performance belongs to the shallower end.

Notice when you are speaking to be perceived a certain way rather than to say something. Try saying less in a conversation this week. What you know does not become less real for going unannounced.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where do you announce what you know instead of simply knowing it?
