The trip you enjoy does not have to resemble the trip you planned to describe.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some of the itinerary is built for the telling rather than for the days. The famous sight, the ambitious route, the restaurant you will be asked about: these get scheduled because they answer a question people will ask later, not because you wanted them. Meanwhile the good hour is usually the unplanned one, sitting somewhere ordinary with nothing to report. A holiday can be a good experience or a good summary.

Leave one day entirely unplanned and see what you do with it. Notice which parts you are doing for the story and drop one of them. Nobody minds a short answer about the trip.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which part of your last trip did you truly enjoy?
