You can be generous in one area and still need correction in another.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Virtue in one place does not buy exemption in another, though the mind treats it as if it does. Someone gives freely with money and is careless with time; someone is patient with strangers and short with the people at home. The generosity is real, which is exactly what makes the blind spot durable.

If a piece of feedback keeps bouncing off you, notice whether you are answering it with evidence from a different part of your life. Take the specific complaint on its own terms this week, without the balance sheet. Being good at one thing is not a defense against being wrong about another.
