A clear correction is worth posting even after the original excitement has moved on.

Wrong information keeps circulating long after the moment that produced it. The people who saw the first version are not sitting there waiting for an update, which is exactly why the correction matters: it is what someone finds when they look this thing up in two years. The record is not the same as the reaction.
If you have said something inaccurate, correct it in the same place, plainly, without a long apology. Edit the original where you can and say what changed. Do it even when the moment has passed and nobody is asking, because the version that stays online is the version that keeps working.
What wrong thing did you say that still needs correcting publicly?
