Let another person’s success teach you something specific instead of judging you generally.

Someone else doing well can be read two ways, and only one of them is useful. The general reading is about you: they are ahead, you are behind, something about you must be lacking. The specific reading is about method: what did they do, in what order. The first ends the thought; the second gives you something to try.
The next time news of someone’s success lands badly, write one concrete question about how they did it. Then find the answer. You will usually discover a step you had not considered, and the sting fades on its own once the thing becomes a process rather than a verdict.
