The person who stumbles through a speech deserves listeners interested in the thought behind it.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Delivery is a separate skill from thinking, and the two are not distributed together. Someone can be exactly right and still lose their place, go red, read too fast from a page they gripped too hard. An audience that scores the performance will miss the idea entirely, and the person will learn that speaking is dangerous rather than that their thought was worth hearing.
When the next nervous speaker starts, put your attention on what they are trying to say and hold it there. Afterward, tell them one specific thing their point changed for you, not that they did fine. That sentence is what makes the second attempt possible.
When did delivery make you stop listening for the idea?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
