A missed chance can leave useful information without needing to be called a gift.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
There is a strong push to convert every loss into a blessing in disguise, and it asks more than most people can honestly give. Something you wanted did not happen. It can stay disappointing and still hand you a few accurate facts: what you actually wanted, where you were unprepared, which door you would knock on again. Information does not require gratitude to be usable.
Write down two or three plain things the experience showed you, without any attempt at a silver lining. Keep them somewhere you will find them next time. If someone tells you it happened for a reason, you are allowed to let that pass without agreeing.
Which loss have you felt pressure to describe as a blessing?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
