The person who has done something many times may need to slow down enough to remember what a beginner cannot see.

Skill works by compressing steps until they stop being steps at all. An expert does not experience the six small judgments inside a movement; they experience one smooth action, which is exactly why their explanation skips the part the beginner is stuck on. The knowledge has simply been packed away where the person who has it can no longer see the seams.
When you teach, go slower than feels reasonable and say the thing that seems too obvious to mention. Ask the learner to describe what they think they are doing, since the gap shows up in their words. Watch for the moment their hands hesitate, and unpack that one.
