A reputation becomes easier to maintain when the description matches the actual service.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Reputation is mostly the distance between what you said and what people got. Overstate a little and every interaction has to carry the gap: explaining, apologizing, managing an expectation you created before the work began. Describe the thing accurately and the work itself does the maintenance, because each delivery quietly confirms the description.

Read your own promises this week as a customer would: the timeline, the inclusions, the word that oversells. Trim anything you cannot reliably do on a bad week. It is easier to be pleasantly exact than to keep meeting a version of yourself invented in a hopeful moment.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where does your promise run slightly ahead of what you deliver?
