A route you take daily stops being a place and becomes a corridor. Your attention is already at the destination, and the street between here and there flattens into distance to be crossed. It has not become less interesting; you have stopped being available to it.
Walk one of your usual routes this week with nowhere to be at the end of it. Go slower than the errand version, look up at least once, and let yourself stop for something that would normally count as a delay.
How often do you walk a familiar route without hurrying?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
