REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Revision looks like unreliability, especially in public, and the person who never updates can seem the steadier of the two. In practice the opposite is true: a corrected position reflects new evidence, while an unchanged one may only reflect a reluctance to look. Punishing the update teaches everyone around you to defend their first answer instead.

When someone tells you they were wrong, thank them and use the new version. Do the same yourself out loud this week, saying what you thought before, what changed it, and what you think now.
