The person with more bags may be managing a day you have not had to imagine.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Awkwardness in public usually has a reason that is not visible from outside. Someone slow at the door, loaded down, taking two seats or moving through a crowd badly may be carrying a household without a car, or leaving a hospital, or doing three errands with a child. Irritation arrives faster than curiosity, and it is almost always aimed at a story you do not have. A little patience costs seconds and spares someone a bad moment in a hard day.

When someone gets in your way this week, try assuming a reason before assuming carelessness. Hold the door, give the space, and let it go.
