Some of the best traditions begin with deciding an ordinary pleasure is worth repeating together.

Traditions are not inherited so much as noticed. A walk that happened twice, a Friday takeaway, a birthday breakfast: at some point somebody said let us do that again, and an accident became a fixture. Nothing about the original was remarkable, and that is precisely why it survives, since it costs nothing to repeat. The decision to repeat is the whole ceremony.
Think of something small you enjoyed recently with people you like. Say out loud that you should make it a regular thing, and put the next one in the calendar.
What ordinary pleasure could become a habit you share with someone?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
