Waiting becomes easier when you stop treating uncertainty like an emergency.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Uncertainty gets treated as a crisis to be resolved immediately, and that framing is most of the suffering. Not knowing is uncomfortable, but it is not itself dangerous, and the urgency you feel is usually about ending the discomfort rather than about any real deadline. Once the emergency framing drops, waiting becomes ordinary.
The next time you are waiting on something out of your hands, ask whether anything actually needs deciding today. Often nothing does. Give the question a date to be revisited, then put your attention on what is available now. Uncertainty tolerated is a skill, and it gets easier with practice.
