An ending is kinder when people are told before they must infer it.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Endings that are never announced still get noticed. The other person watches the replies slow, the invitations stop, the project quietly go unmentioned, and has to conclude alone that something is over. That deduction is harder to carry than the news would have been, and it leaves them doubting what they can trust anywhere else.
If something on your side has ended, a job, a friendship, an arrangement, say a short true sentence about it. You do not need to explain everything. Clarity is the kindness here, not detail.
Which fading friendship have you left to be figured out?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
