A simple arrangement can let a strong voice be heard more clearly.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for something good is get out of its way. A powerful singer buried under a busy arrangement, or a strong idea wrapped in slides and qualifications, is harder to hear than it would be with almost nothing around it. Adding is the instinct, while subtracting is usually what works.

Look at something you are preparing and ask what is competing with the best part of it. Take out one layer, whether that is an instrument, a paragraph or a decoration. See whether the thing you actually care about becomes easier to notice with less around it.
