Some tension disappears when people stop assuming the other person remembers the arrangement.

A surprising amount of friction is a memory problem wearing the costume of a character problem. Someone forgets whose turn it is, and the other person reads the lapse as indifference rather than as forgetting. From there the correction arrives with an edge, and now there is a real disagreement sitting on top of the small original one. Most arrangements are held more loosely by other people than by whoever cares about them most.
Say the arrangement out loud again, lightly, before it comes due. A short reminder costs you a sentence and spares you an argument you would then have had to win.
Which arrangement are you assuming everyone still remembers correctly?
