Patience gives consequences enough room to educate without your interference.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Consequences teach, but only if they are allowed to land. Stepping in to soften every outcome for someone, or for yourself, removes the very information that would have produced a change, and so the same situation repeats with the same rescue attached. Interference is often kindness that prevents learning.

This needs care, since some consequences are too large to allow. But for the ordinary ones, try letting the result arrive on its own. Do not explain, do not fix, do not cushion. Then be available afterwards without saying you told them so. That combination lets the lesson land and the relationship survive it.
