A useful collection has a purpose beyond proving how much has been collected.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Collections drift. What begins as a set of things you use becomes a set of things you have, and the count starts standing in for the purpose. Bookmarks nobody reads, tools nobody picks up, files saved in case. The pleasure of accumulation is real, but it is a different pleasure from the one the collection was originally for.

Take one of yours and ask what it is meant to do for you. Then find what no longer serves that and either use it this month or let it go. A smaller set you reach into beats a large one you only maintain.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What do you keep adding to that you have stopped actually using?
