A pleasant purchase should not require months of pretending its burden is small.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Something bought for pleasure that quietly strains the budget turns into a performance. You keep telling people it was worth it, keep insisting the cost is manageable, and each month the defending takes a little more energy than the enjoying. The item may be lovely. The arrangement around it is what wears you down.
Look at a recent purchase and ask whether you are still enjoying it or mainly justifying it. If it is the second, say so out loud once, even only to yourself. Then decide what to do without adding a verdict about your judgment at the time.
What are you still paying for while calling it no problem?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
